Theater In Quarantine's Phantom of the Opera created by Joshua William Gelb and Normandy Sherwood is now available to watch for free on TiQ's YouTube Channel! Following 2023’s Nosferatu: A 3D Symphony of Horror, this new commission by NYU Skirball continues TiQ’s gothic experiments in live digital performance. Unlike its more lavish musical cousins, this Phantom strips the story to its bones: a portrait of the artist as saboteur, trapped in a system that preserves tradition by suffocating change.
Phantom of the Opera was originally live-streamed on CulturHub's interactive Broadcaster platform, where audiences could toggle between the show and a live backstage feed for unprecedented access to the mechanics behind our digital illusions.
